What We Do

LasVegas.Logo_.Square.print_-300x300

SWOP Las Vegas holds get-togethers, at which you can meet your fellow workers and forge community and friendship. We understand that not everyone is “out” about being an adult entertainer or a sex worker, and we are committed to anonymity and safety.

We organize educational and advocacy events opened to the broader community to build relationships and an understanding that adult entertainment is work, and erotic service providers are regular people who are a part of our community. We are committed to giving back by supporting and standing in solidarity with other oppressed and stigmatized groups.

SWOP Las Vegas co-sponsors adult industry events and workshops that are designed to provide helpful and practical information for adult entertainers. Finally, we engage in health and safety outreach to promote harm reduction, especially among the most marginalized communities.

Annual Events

International Sex Worker Rights Day, March 3rd

This day’s history goes back to 2001, when over 25,000 sex workers gathered in India for a festival despite efforts from prohibitionist groups who tried to prevent it taking place by pressuring the government to revoke their permit. The event was organised by Durbar Mahila Samanwaya Committee, a Calcutta based group that has over 50,000 sex worker members, and members of their communities. Sex worker groups across the world have subsequently celebrated 3rd March as an annual, international event, as International Sex Worker Rights Day.

International Day to End Violence Against Sex Workers, December 17th

In the spirit of remembrance and healing, the Sex Workers Outreach Project (SWOP-USA) and SWOP chapters join sex workers, allies and activists from around the world in recognizing December 17, the International Day to End Violence against Sex Workers. As we approach this day, we seek to come together to remember those who we have lost this year, and renew our commitment in the on-going struggle for empowerment, visibility, and rights for all sex workers.
